Helping Partake streamline DTC, retail, and beverage fulfillment
Partake needed a fulfillment partner that could support strong DTC volume, retail operations, beverage-specific shipping complexity, and a major SKU transition from 4-packs to 6-packs without disrupting the customer experience.
Partake needed one partner for retail, DTC, and changing SKU requirements
Partake Brewing was already doing meaningful volume across DTC and retail. Their previous partner had strong retail capabilities, but the DTC side created operational issues — including misships, inconsistent scanning, and execution gaps that affected the customer experience.
At the same time, Partake was phasing out 4-packs and transitioning 6-packs into the base SKU. That created a need for kitting, unkitting, VAS work, and flexible inventory movement between singles, 6-packs, and 24-pack case formats.
Strong retail fulfillment, but poor DTC execution
Partake’s previous partner could support retail requirements, but the DTC side was not where it needed to be. Misships, poor scanning, and inconsistent execution created risk for customer orders and made the operation harder to trust.
The timing made the project even more complex. Partake was transitioning their base SKU from 4-packs to 6-packs, which meant inventory needed to be reworked, broken down, rebuilt, and moved between multiple pack configurations.
Managing the move from 4-packs to 6-packs
Partake was phasing out 4-packs and moving 6-packs into the base SKU. In the meantime, inventory needed to move between singles, 6-packs, and 24-pack case formats depending on what was available and what the business needed to sell.
247 used work orders to manage repeatable VAS tasks like breaking down, rebuilding, and reconfiguring inventory.
Kits helped connect sellable pack formats back to the underlying component inventory needed to fulfill them.
The operation could flex while Partake transitioned from one base pack format to another.

Pack changes could happen without losing visibility into inventory movement.
Retail-ready lot control for beverage fulfillment
Because Partake sells through both DTC and retail, lot control is a critical part of the fulfillment operation. Beverage inventory needs to be tracked accurately, rotated properly, and shipped with discipline so the right product moves at the right time.
247 supported Partake with stronger lot-level visibility and FEFO workflows, helping ensure first-expiring inventory is prioritized while still supporting DTC orders, retail replenishment, and SKU rework projects.

Selling more packs without losing inventory control
Partake needed flexibility to sell different pack combinations while transitioning from 4-packs to 6-packs. 247’s WMS helped keep the operation controlled by connecting sellable bundles back to the underlying inventory required to fulfill them.
Partake could sell multiples of packs, cases, and promotional offers while 247 managed the warehouse execution behind each order.
Bundles could stay tied to the individual cans, packs, or cases needed to build them, helping prevent oversells and inventory confusion.
247 used work orders and kit logic to move inventory between pack formats as Partake phased out 4-packs and scaled 6-packs.
Consolidating DTC under one fulfillment partner
Partake wanted to consolidate DTC fulfillment under one provider while improving cost and delivery performance. By leveraging both Toronto and BC, 247 helped create better national coverage for heavier beverage orders.
Bicoastal fulfillment helped cut shipping costs by ~ 25%
Beverage brands face a harder shipping equation than most ecommerce categories. Cases are heavier, boxes are larger, and multi-pack orders can quickly eat into margins if everything ships from one location.
By using both 247’s Toronto and BC fulfillment nodes, combined with aggressive carrier rates for heavier and oversized parcels, Partake reduced shipping costs by close to 25% while improving delivery speed across Canada.
Orders flowed from Shopify directly into 247
Partake's DTC and FBM were pushed from Shopify into 247’s fulfillment workflow, giving our team the order data needed to pick, pack, and ship quickly.
From there, 247 handled the operational execution — receiving inventory, managing order flow, applying custom packout rules, and helping move all shipments out the door.

Lower shipping costs, faster delivery, and stronger DTC execution.
By consolidating Partake’s DTC fulfillment under 247 and using both Toronto and BC, Partake gained better execution, faster delivery coverage, and close to 25% shipping savings — while still supporting retail needs, SKU transitions, and branded custom boxes.
