CHARLESTON 3PL & FULFILLMENT SERVICES

Charleston brands. Port availability is not ecommerce availability.

For inventory moving through the Port of Charleston, define container availability, authorized pickup, drayage custody, staging, inland transfer and final warehouse receipt before units enter online stock. Compare retained Charleston-area inventory with 247’s proposed Ohio program by accepted assortment. This page does not advertise a Charleston warehouse, port service, drayage or customs clearance.

Verify the terminal handoff with the responsible parties

Use current container status, release references, carrier authorization and terminal requirements. Public gate information does not confirm a specific shipment.

Keep in-transit freight out of sellable stock

Do not expose units until the assigned fulfillment facility completes the agreed receipt, count and exception workflow.

Price Charleston to final receipt

Include drayage, chassis or wait exposure where applicable, staging, inland freight, receiving, replenishment and carrying cost before choosing Ohio.

PORT RELEASE. CUSTODY. FINAL WAREHOUSE RECEIPT.

Every handoff needs a status, owner and exception path.

The South Carolina parent compares coastal imports, inland demand and a proposed Ohio origin. This Charleston guide is narrower: it follows a container through release, pickup, staging, inland movement and final fulfillment receipt before customer availability.

YOUR CHARLESTON-TO-FULFILLMENT RECORD

A terminal milestone does not complete the inventory receipt.

South Carolina Ports publishes motor-carrier registration, gate-code, credential and terminal-access requirements for container and chassis moves. Those requirements establish the port context; they do not establish the status of a specific shipment or any service performed by 247.

For each lot, capture the container or shipment reference, responsible broker or forwarder, release status, authorized motor carrier, piece or seal record, staging location, inland freight owner and destination appointment. Customs and drayage remain with the responsible licensed providers unless expressly included.

Availability: record the controlling status

Use the responsible terminal, carrier, broker or forwarder source for the shipment. Keep the timestamp and person who confirmed release readiness.

Pickup: document authorization and custody

Name the motor carrier, equipment and release reference. Record seals, piece counts or visible exceptions at each agreed handoff.

Staging: keep the inventory status explicit

Identify whether freight is at the terminal, a yard, transload point or in transit. Physical proximity does not make units sellable.

Receipt: reconcile containers to accepted SKUs

Agree how cartons, pallets and units are counted, how damage or shortage is recorded and when accepted inventory can enter channel availability.

Allocation: reserve Charleston-area needs first

Separate local wholesale, samples, replacements or supplier-review units from the national ecommerce assortment before inland transfer.

Exceptions: assign storage, demurrage and claims ownership

Identify who monitors free time, appointments, detention or storage exposure and who escalates release, equipment, damage or shortage issues.

THE CHARLESTON INVENTORY DECISION

Retain a Charleston-area pool, or transfer accepted national inventory to Ohio?

Compare the same accepted goods and representative orders. Include the entire port-to-receipt movement, stock reservations and return path.

KEEP CHARLESTON-AREA STOCK FOR A CLEAR PURPOSE

Protect local access and unresolved freight

Release, inspection or product approval is incomplete.
Local wholesale, samples or replacements are explicitly reserved.
Supplier or claims review still requires Charleston-area access.
Inland transfer and replenishment erase the expected benefit.
EVALUATE THE 247 OHIO PROGRAM

Move accepted national inventory

The assigned facility and receiving availability are confirmed.
Release, custody, staging and inland freight owners are documented.
Charleston-area reservations and national inventory are separated.
A pilot tests receipt, orders, exceptions and returns.
BUILD YOUR CHARLESTON FULFILLMENT PROGRAM

Confirm release. Control custody. Receive accepted inventory.

01Map the port shipment

Record container and shipment references, responsible broker or forwarder, current status, release requirements and expected pieces.

02Write the custody chain

Name motor carrier, equipment, staging, inland transfer and destination receiving owners. Define exception evidence and escalation.

03Approve the inventory allocation

Reserve Charleston-area needs, identify the national assortment and set the system status that prevents premature online sale.

04Test the first inland receipt

Confirm facility, appointment and scope. Reconcile received pieces to accepted SKUs, then test customer orders and return instructions.

A useful comparison separates warehouse dispatch from carrier delivery. Judge the proposed move on total cost, service performance, inventory availability, and the work your team no longer needs to manage.

CHARLESTON 3PL QUESTIONS

What should a Charleston brand confirm?

Practical answers about port handoffs, inventory status and a proposed Ohio origin.

Does 247 operate a Charleston fulfillment center?

No. This page serves Charleston brands evaluating a proposed Ohio program. It does not claim a Charleston warehouse, port, customs or drayage service. Review the South Carolina guide.

When can port inventory become available online?

After the responsible parties complete release and transfer, and the assigned fulfillment facility completes the agreed receipt, count and exception process.

Does 247 provide customs clearance or drayage?

No such service is promised here. Use the responsible licensed broker, forwarder and motor carrier. Any logistics work included in a 247 proposal must be expressly identified.

What belongs in the Charleston-to-Ohio transfer estimate?

Include drayage, equipment or wait exposure where applicable, staging, inland freight, appointments, receiving, shortages, storage, replenishment and carrying cost.

Can some stock remain in the Charleston area?

Yes, when local wholesale, samples, replacements, supplier review or claims work has a defined role. Reserve SKUs and quantities before transfer.

Does this page promise duty, tax or free-time savings?

No. It makes no customs, tax, duty, demurrage or storage guarantee. Confirm the specific goods, shipment, contracts and live terminal status with the responsible parties.

What should we send for a Charleston fulfillment quote?

Share accepted SKU data, inbound references, release and transfer responsibilities, order history, Charleston-area reservations, packaging and returns. Request a Charleston fulfillment comparison.
